What an educational DUI cost range is not
Quick answer
A planning band is useful. A fake quote from a website that has never seen your charge sheet is not.

Why ranges exist at all
Counsel, court costs, interlock, SR-22, classes, towing, and insurance can all move independently. A single “average DUI cost” number hides that. The calculator on this site exists so readers see the stack — not so they can screenshot a total and treat it as a bill.
What the calculator does not know
It does not know your charge, prior record, test result, county, or whether a prosecutor filed additional counts. It does not know if you need an interpreter, an out-of-state license action, or a commercial license review. Those facts change real fees.
Red flags on other sites
A slider that outputs a precise attorney fee, a promised dismissal, or a “settlement” figure for a criminal case is marketing, not math. This site will not add those features.
How to use the number you do get
Write the categories down. Ask a licensed attorney which ones apply in your county and which ones do not. If a quote you receive is a flat fee, ask what is excluded: trial, interlock vendor, SR-22, or a later violation. That conversation is the product. The range is only the outline.
